STARK has today signed a framework agreement with the German Armed Forces for the delivery of the Loitering Munition System Virtus. Deliveries will commence in 2026.
The agreement was approved by the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag on 25 February 2026. The framework contract provides for the full delivery of several thousand loitering munition systems within two years following successful qualification.
The decision follows extensive joint testing with the Bundeswehr, during which the Virtus Loitering Munition System demonstrated its performance, accuracy and reliability.
Virtus offers a range of over 130 kilometres, an endurance of up to 90 minutes, and is equipped with a German warhead system. With its unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) capability, the system can be reused repeatedly for military training and exercise purposes, enabling efficient use of resources by the Bundeswehr.
“Today’s decision represents a new era in German defence policy and demonstrates trust in innovative companies.” said STARK Founder and CEO Uwe Horstmann. “This new capability strengthens the operational readiness of Brigade 45 in Lithuania and marks an important contribution to European deterrence.”
The award underlines Germany’s determination to strengthen key capabilities and accelerate procurement processes in line with urgent operational demands.
